Timothy Turner - Director of Bands

Timothy Turner started as the Director of Bands at Gar-Field High School in the fall of 2020.   

Prior to teaching at Gar-Field, Mr. Turner spent 11 years as the band director at Beville Middle School. Before that, Mr. Turner spent two years teaching Band at Rodney Thompson Middle School in Stafford, Va.  He also lived and taught in Massachusetts for a few years before moving to Northern Virginia. 

Mr. Turner has served on the Marching Band staff for Colonial Forge Sound and Guard, Woodbridge High school, and Potomac High School.  He also teaches saxophone lessons in his spare time.

Originally from Virginia Beach, VA.  Mr. Turner attended Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA where he received a Bachelors of Music in both Education and Performance in 2005.  He attended Shenandoah Conservatory and received a Masters in Music education in 2015. 

Mr. Turner lives in Stafford, VA with his wife Rhiannon.  They have three amazing children, Lincoln, August, and Cora.
